Every Thursday this season Bally Sports Wisconsin takes a closer look at some specific young players in the Milwaukee Brewers’ farm system — as well as noting others who might be stepping up — measuring, highlighting and evaluating their progress.

This is the 17th edition of the 2023 Young Brewers Tracker.

Tyler Black, 3B (age 22/Triple-A)

Last week: 7 games, 24 AB, 4 H, HR, 8 R, 4 RBI, 7 BB, 5 K, .167 BA

Season (Triple-A): 9 games, 32 AB, .156 AVG, .341 OBP, .344 SLG, .685 OPS, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 10 R, 4 RBI, 2 SB, 9 BB, 6 K.

Season (Double-A): 84 games, 308 AB, .273 BA, .411 OBP, .513 SLG, .924 OPS, 16 2B, 8 3B, 14 HR, 70 R, 48 RBI, 47 SB, 61 BB, 77 K.

Notable: Black still is searching for his first multi-hit game at Triple-A. In fact, he hasn’t recorded 2+ hits since July 22 for Biloxi. The good news: He’s walked nine times in nine games with the Nashville Sounds.

Jackson Chourio, OF (age 19/Double-A)

Last week: 3 games, 10 AB, 0 H, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K, .000 BA

Season: 97 games, 403 AB, .278 BA, .336 OBP, .462 SLG, .798 OPS, 19 2B, 2 3B, 17 HR, 65 R, 73 RBI, 32 SB, 33 BB, 86 K

Notable: Chourio had a 10-game hitting streak snapped Aug. 8. He’s 0-for-18 his last five times out.

Robert Gasser, SP (age 24/Triple-A)

Last week: 1 game (1 start), 1-0, 6 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 9 K

Season: 21 games (20 starts), 7-1, 3.94 ERA, 107 1/3 IP, 93 H, 9 HR, 43 BB, 133 K, .227 OBA, 1.27 WHIP.

Notable: In his last two starts Gasser has tossed 12 innings with five hits and walks allowed and 19 strikeouts. His only losing decision on the season occurred all the way back on May 25.

Jacob Misiorowski, SP (age 21/Double-A)

Last week: 1 game (1 start), 1-0, 6 IP, 1 H, 3 BB, 12 K

Season (Double-A): 5 games (5 starts), 2-1, 5.57 ERA, 21 IP, 17 H, 2 HR, 16 BB, 36 K, .215 OBA, 1.57 WHIP.

Season (High-A): 6 games (6 starts), 1-0, 1.90 ERA, 23 2/3 IP, 15 H, 0 HR, 14 BB, 28 K, .176 OBA, 1.23 WHIP.

Season (Low-A): 9 games (9 starts), 1-1, 3.04 ERA, 26 2/3 IP, 10 H, 0 HR, 12 BB, 46 K, .118 OBA, 0.83 WHIP.

Notable: Misiorowski delivered his best Double-A start to date Aug. 15, fanning 12 in six innings on 97 pitches. The 2022 second-rounder, however, pegged two more batters, raising his HBP to 11 in five starts.

Jeferson Quero, C (age 20/Double-A)

Last week: 6 games, 24 AB, 5 H, HR, 4 R, 4 RBI, 2 BB, 4 K, .208 BA

Season: 70 games, 259 AB, .282 BA, .364 OBP, .475 SLG, .839 OPS, 8 2B, 0 3B, 14 HR, 38 R, 43 RBI, 3 SB, 33 BB, 51 K.

Notable: A fairly quiet week for Quero was highlighted by a two-hit, three-RBI game and homer No. 14 on Aug. 13. Also, he’s riding a four-game hitting streak, with five knocks in his last four appearances.

Carlos Rodriguez, RP (age 21/Double-A)

Last week: 2 games (2 start), 1-0, 10 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 6 BB, 9 K

Season: 21 games (21 starts), 7-4, 2.51 ERA, 100 1/3 IP, 62 H, 6 HR, 49 BB, 127 K, .173 OBA, 1.11 WHIP.

Notable: Rodriguez had some trouble with control, walking four batters Aug. 10 but overall avoided serious damage in two starts last week. A pair of runners scored on his watch but none were earned.

Brock Wilken, 3B (age 21/High-A)

Last week: 6 games, 22 AB, 5 H, 2 R, 4 RBI, 4 BB, 8 K, .227 BA

Season (High-A): 12 games, 37 AB, .270 AVG, .471 OBP, .432 SLG, .903 OPS, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 6 R, 7 RBI, 0 SB, 13 BB, 12 K.

Season (Rookie): 7 games, 21 AB, .333 BA, .464 OBP, .571 SLG, 1.035 OPS, 0 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 3 R, 6 RBI, 1 SB, 4 BB, 6 K.

Notable: Milwaukee’s first-round pick in 2023 has 2+ hits in four of his last eight games at High-A.

Other notes: Biloxi OF Carlos Rodriguez — the other Carlos Rodriguez on the Shuckers — went 10-for-25 with three doubles and eight RBI last week. He had a six-game string with two hits from Aug. 9-15, becoming the first player in Biloxi history with six straight multi-hit games. … Shuckers INF Ethan Murray (fifth round, 2021) led Brewers minor-leaguers last week with a .474 average, going 9-for-19 with a couple RBI and five walks in six games. On the year Murray is swinging .266 with a .764 OPS. … Nashville INF/OF Keston Hiura (first round, 2017) went yard twice with five RBI in six games last week. In August, Hiura is hitting .356 over 12 games with three doubles, three home runs and 13 RBI. … Carolina SP Logan Henderson (fourth round, 2021) racked up eight strikeouts and surrendered just three hits and a run over 5 1/3 innings Aug. 12 vs. Delmarva. Henderson now has 8+ whiffs in four of his last five starts and 6+ in 10 of 15 on the season. He owns a 2.61 ERA and 0.903 WHIP. … Brewers prospect Daniel Corniel dominated rookie ball last week, needing only 37 pitches to fan eight over five frames. Corniel posted an absurd strike rate of 89% and caught hitters swinging 59% of the time. It was by far the finest outing yet for the 19-year-old Venezuelan, who sports a 6.03 ERA in 34 1/3 IP this year.
