COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri indigenous Rachel Blunt has been named the College of Missouri’s Senior Affiliate Athletic Director for Scholar-Athlete Development and Championship Overall performance, Director of Athletics Desireé Reed-Francois announced.
Blunt, who joins the Tigers following serving as the Deputy Athletic Director/Administration and Senior Woman Administrator at Central Michigan University, will be a member of the senior management team and oversee Mizzou’s holistic scholar-athlete championship knowledge.
She will have administrative oversight of all college student-athlete going through departments, which include academics, occupation and leadership improvement (Mizzou Designed), nourishment, sports activities medication and toughness and conditioning.
“We were looking for a established, compassionate and innovative leader who would form our holistic university student-athlete championship practical experience and Rachel Blunt is an exceptional fit,” Reed-Francois reported. “She was born and elevated in Missouri, has a keep track of history of putting university student-athletes initial and is another person of significant character whose possess everyday living and vocation route was impacted by her time as a collegiate athlete. Blunt invested the earlier 5 yrs at Central Michigan in a selection of roles. She was the sport administrator for the men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, women’s lacrosse, softball, women’s gymnastics and women’s soccer applications.
From Aug.-Sept. 2020, Blunt was CMU’s Interim Zyzelewski Loved ones Affiliate Vice President/Director of Athletics.
She joined CMU in 2016 as Associate Advertisement/Institutional Aid Services, overseeing all areas of the Chippewas’ Leadership Academy and was promoted to her present-day posture in March 2021.
Prior to signing up for the CMU staff, Blunt was the Assistant Advertisement/Compliance at Southeast Missouri State University from 2013-16. She started out her vocation in compliance as a graduate assistant in 2009 and joined the University’s full-time employees as an assistant compliance director in 2012. She also served in administrative capacities at Tennessee-Chattanooga.
A native of Dexter, Missouri, Blunt played 4 years of basketball at SEMO, encouraging the Redhawks to back-to-back again Ohio Valley Meeting Championships in 2007 and 2008. She has two degrees from SEMO, earning a bachelor’s diploma in sport management in 2009 and a master’s in finance in 2011.
