Historic sportswear maker teams with digital marketing company

An East Lancashire based sportswear and equipment maker have scored a six-figure deal with a digital company to improve its marketing.

Digital marketing company +24, have become the marketing partner for one of Britain’s oldest sporting goods firms, Burnley headquartered Surridge Sport.

Surridge Sport, founded by Percy Surridge in 1867, was responsible for creating what is widely regarded as the first ‘modern’ football – the SS Cobbler, which was the world’s first non-lace up ball to be introduced at the FIFA World Cup in Sweden in 1958.

The six-figure marketing contract is set to help strengthen Surridge Sports position as an internationally renowned supplier of sportswear and equipment including cricket bats, football kits and trophies.

Surridge Sport manufacture and supply equipment and sportswear to professional and grassroots sports teams, as well as universities, schools and retailers.

The long-term contract with +24 will see them support Surridge Sport in all aspects of digital and brand marketing enterprises.

This deal will work on brand development which includes social media, PPC and SEO, to increase brand awareness and drive new business opportunities.

Surridge Sport will also receive creative support from +24, including video production, graphic design and copywriting, to produce high quality content for web, social and traditional media outlets.
