Blue Jays Roundup: Swimming hosts nonconference dual – Jamestown Sun

JAMESTOWN — Allysah Larson and Jordyn Larson seem to be born swimmers.

The pair made their way to first-place finishes in the 100 backstroke and breaststroke respectively, earning 12 points for the Jamestown High School swimming and diving team Friday evening.

The Blue Jays hosted West Fargo in a nonconference dual. The Jays dropped 111-72 to the Packers. Head coach Ben Smith and the Jays will be back in the pool on Saturday hosting Fargo North. The dual is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

In addition to winning their individual event, the Larson duo helped the Jays to a second-place finish in the 200 yard medley relay. The group of four finished the race in 2 minutes, 5.62 seconds.

The relay evidently didn’t tire Georgia Lettenmaier out too much.

Two events after the relay wrapped, Lettenmaier powered her way to a first-place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.10 seconds. The junior also went on to win the 100 freestyle touching the wall at 59.08 seconds.

Lettenmaier ended her night swimming the anchor leg of the 200 freestyle relay. The relay team finished second overall.
